Free St. Patrick’s Day Events In Dallas and Fort Worth
Arlington
Arlington is the place to be this St. Patrick’s Day. J. Gilligans is celebrating it’s 39th annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party this year with an incredible lineup of music and food. Famous for their Irish nachos, J. Gilligans pulls out all the stops for St. Patrick’s Day. DFW Living on the Cheap’s own Stingray band is the headliner at this traditional Irish celebration. J. Gilligans opens at 11 am, with live music going till midnight.
Dallas
This year is also the 39th year for the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Greenville Ave. This time honored tradition is the largest St. Patrick’s parade in the Southwest with more than 90 parade floats and over 1,700 parade participants. The parade starts at 11 am on the 17th, but make sure to get there early (and we mean 9 am or earlier!) to get a spot. The sea of green starts filling in fast!
Fort Worth
The city’s largest and most family friendly St. Patrick’s Day event is Cowtown Goes Green held on March 17. The festivities start with the cattle drive at 11:30 am in the Stockyards and continue throughout the day with face painting, gunfights, live music, Irish dancers and Celtic bands. Events are free and fun for the whole family.
Mansfield
This is the World’s only St. Paddy’s Day Pickle Parade and Palooza and it’s held on March 16 and 17 in Mansfield Texas. The festivities kick off on Friday with Beer Keg Races starting at 6 pm. The Fun Run is the 17th, with the baby parade, pet parade and the pickle parade following. The parade and festivities are free.
McKinney
At the McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Shamrock Run, enjoy games, music, Irish bands, a dunking tank and a green machine kids play zone! The festivities are free and take place at TUPPS Brewery, 721 Anderson Street, McKinney, 75069. The Shamrock Run is at 9 am and the festival starts at 10 am and goes until 3 pm.
